Despite Trump’s optimism, Tehran seemed to promptly challenge the halt in the U.S. military campaign, as Saudi Arabia, Jordan, and Iraq reported drone attacks on Monday. The dollar remained close to a one-month peak as traders assessed the likelihood of a rate increase at the Federal Reserve’s forthcoming meeting, rendering dollar-denominated bullion pricier for holders of alternative currencies. Markets are currently reflecting an 81% probability of an interest rate increase during the central bank’s meeting in September. President Donald Trump on Monday urged the Federal Reserve to reduce interest rates, asserting that the United States ought to maintain the lowest interest rate globally. In June, China’s net gold imports through Hong Kong experienced a year-on-year increase of over 100%, according to data released by Hong Kong’s Census and Statistics Department on Monday.
